It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was underway.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
